The brief
Gabriel India required the upgradation of its existing R&D Tech Centre in Hosur to accommodate a growing team of engineers and enhance its innovation capabilities. The objective was to modernise the facility with improved infrastructure, optimised workspace planning and upgraded utilities — with minimal disruption to ongoing operations, and within a strict timeline aligned to upcoming product-development milestones.
Scope of work
Civil works, site development and earthworks, RCC structure, structural steel, façade, MEP coordination, interiors and landscaping — delivered under a single design-build contract.
Challenges and how we solved them
The key challenge was executing civil upgradation inside a live R&D environment where operations could not be disturbed. B1 India implemented a phased execution strategy — isolating work zones and scheduling high-impact activities during off-hours — so the client’s teams worked without interruption throughout.
The timeline also coincided with the monsoon season, posing risks to external works and material handling. Proactive weather planning, temporary protective measures and optimised procurement schedules kept the project on programme.
The outcome
The project was delivered within the approved budget, with zero disruption to Gabriel’s ongoing R&D operations. The upgraded Tech Centre was handed over as planned — fully equipped with modernised infrastructure and optimised workspaces that improved productivity and collaboration among engineering teams, directly supporting the client’s accelerated product-development timelines.
